Best Reverse Osmosis Systems is an independent, reader-supported review site founded by Ilane Tall and published by Neclid LTD. We cover one narrow, expensive-to-get-wrong decision: which under-sink or countertop reverse osmosis system to put in your kitchen, and what it will cost you to keep running.
How we work — and what we don’t do
We are honest about our method. We do not physically test these systems, and we do not run a testing lab. What we do instead: we compare published specifications, we check which third-party certification a system actually holds (NSF/ANSI 58 for contaminant reduction is not the same as NSF/ANSI 372 for lead-free materials), we track live pricing on both the systems and their replacement cartridges, and we read the critical owner reviews closely, because the complaints are where the real trade-offs live.
You will not find star-rating badges or scores out of ten anywhere on this site. Amazon no longer exposes verified rating data through its product API, and we would rather show you a certification and a cartridge price than a number we cannot source. We never invent scores, and we never present a paraphrase as a quotation.
Why we keep talking about filters
Because a reverse osmosis system is two purchases. The sticker price buys the housings, the membrane and the faucet; after that you rebuy cartridges for as long as you own it. A system with universal 10-inch housings can cost a third as much to run as one with proprietary twist-in filters — a gap that overtakes the difference in purchase price within a few years.
